Description
The SCM Nova F520 and F410 are professional surface planers designed for accurately flattening and straightening timber before further machining. As part of the SCM Nova range, they are built to offer a strong balance of performance, durability and ease of use, making them well suited to both general joinery and more demanding workshop environments.
Both machines feature long ribbed cast iron tables that provide excellent support for the workpiece and help eliminate vibration during operation. This stability is essential for achieving flat, consistent results, particularly when working with longer or heavier timber sections. The infeed table is manually adjusted using a precise control system, allowing accurate setting of cutting depth and repeatable results across multiple passes.
A four-knife cutterblock delivers clean and even material removal, while optional cutterblock systems such as Tersa or spiral heads can be fitted to improve finish quality and reduce noise levels. The machines also feature a tilting fence, allowing accurate edge planing and angled work, adding flexibility for a wide range of joinery applications.
The main difference between the two models is capacity. The F520 is designed for larger workpieces and higher throughput, while the F410 offers the same performance in a more compact format. Both machines share the same core design, ensuring consistent accuracy, smooth operation and long-term reliability.
